What’s your ideal industry to sell in and why?

I was catching on some late-night reading, and noticed that doormats are some of the most sold items in the US. Which got me thinking of what products I could sell on my own, as a reseller.

Then I realized that lately I’ve mostly sold products and services

to only 2 Industries; SaaS and Healthcare, and I started wondering are most

salespersons moving towards these two industries or are the others still

strong?

What better way to find out to ask my fellow war room warriors!

I looked up which where the "best industries" to sell to

as well as the biggest industries at the moment in various website and these where the results;

Best industry to sell?

SaaS real estate because it’s a relatively short sales cycle and easy to crush it in the SMB and Mid-Market side as long as you differentiate well. Most RE guys provide a ton of referrals too.

I love selling to the agricultural/construction community. Good, hardworking people with full pockets and very transparent about their wants and needs. Makes them easy to do business with but you do have some tough sells especially since there’s a lot of customers who are stuck on brands. Ex. Caterpillar, John Deere, Case, Komatsu I don’t think I’ll ever leave the industry.

ecommerce & CPG is excellent, but want to specifically shout out the supply chain side of it. there are of course great things to do on the digital media side, but selling into the supply chain side of how physical products move from place to place on time is incredibly lucrative, especially after the last 18 mos we've had with massive disruptions (Evergiven, huge increases in raw material prices in aluminum, paper and plastic resins, general covid slowdowns). making that move faster and allowing the long tail to better compete against amazon is a real honeypot
