What's your take on folks starting companies and businesses to teach others how to 'build your brand' on LinkedIn?

I understand how much LinkedIn has grown over the years. But does this validate some 'LinkedIn influencers' making a business out of making others LinkedIn influencers?

Have you/ would you pay to learn how to grow your brand on LinkedIn?

Just no.ย

but Iโ€™m sure there are lots of people who would happily take your money on clubhouse to sell you that snake oil.ย

also, there are so many resources online that you can use from a simple google search.ย

IMO, the best people in sales never use social media at all. Theyโ€™re too busy closing ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€

Agreed...I have seen a number of underperforming reps become "influencers" and now I tend to view them all in that bucket.

We NEED more social sellers, so the phones stay quiet for the rest of us.

So much about clubhouse. Another thing I've seen is people shitting on LI on Twitter, people shitting on Clubhouse on LinkedIn and probably shitting on something else on Clubhouse lol

They won't tell you anything you don't already know. They are just going to make you do the things you already know but don't want to do.... because it takes too much time and is fake a fuh. Not a conclusive list, but my guess is things like this shit....

1. Joining every webinar on every topic ever posted on Linkedin

2. Followย all current influencers/people with high titles or huge # of followers.

3. Comment 100x's a day.

4. Post every day.

5. LinkedIn Automation to send out mass amounts of connection invites daily.

6. Use hashtags and tags to gain more post traction.ย

7. Claim you are already an influencer in X-area.

8. Join webinar groups, coffee groups, meet-up groups, clubhouse groups, meet-n-greet groups.

I prospect on LinkedIn often and this is terrible advice. Anyone who suggests doing this doesnโ€™t book meetings there.ย

I think now I see more people selling 'how to sell' on LinkedIn more than people actually selling something real. Lol.ย

Just because someone sells the snake oil doesn't mean it works.

I hate influencers. ย Same recycled platitudes.

I'd take a class, but I'd never pay a consultant.ย  I think if you're closed off to Social Selling, you're going to struggle into the future.ย  Things change, so should you. One of the most successful salespeople in my company is probably 60, has a network of over 10k people on LinkedIn, and leverages the living $hit out of social media.ย  His pipeline is stacked just a few months in.ย ย

Always keep an open mind to changes in the way people want to receive your information.ย ย

That said, I do think it depends on your audience, region, etc.ย

Way to many factors included. If you've ever been to a 'sales training course' then you'll see it's the generic dribble about how to...pretty much just speak to someone.ย

I think having a personality and your ability to blend in with all types of people while maintaining authenticity is what makes a true sales person.ย

I have never received a LI message about my brand that read that way.ย

Politics are real at big companies. Make sure you're speaking to people that shape the power dynamics. Don't ever forget that any purchase can be a power move within a company.

You cannot be the sole focus of the deal from your side. Multithread others within your company to strengthen momentum over longer sales cycles
