is this pertaining to you? what is the scenario?
In general. I have been a part owner of a company for 7 years that is the 3rd biggest reseller of a Global company. Clients are Disney, Governments, Airports etc. Issue is we are smaller than the other 2 bigger resellers by 10 fold so I take very little to no salary to make sure employees are happy and company can run on its own.
My wife is also pregnant and I am debating on stepping out of corporate America and focusing on business fully, I just don't want to lose my sales staff if I take a salary since I pay them more than the industry and its how we land bigger clients as we grow.
Don't get me wrong, I do either take a 6 figure salary or reinvest the salary I would take into growth but debating more and more to just go with that full time

Initially I would start applying internally since that would be the easiest, but of course if you are ready for a promotion I would go for it!

Personally haven't gotten laid off, but making sure I diversify my income streams just in case. Consulting is dope.
Level up, but that depends on the person
Take advantage of every opportunity.
