Have you heard of this thing called repvue and compgauge?

If not then check out those two they have submissions from real sales people, where they break down their pay packet and quota attainment.

I mean we are, but you're probably going to get 20-30 responses. Versus the 100's of data points those sites have already collected.

So if you're actually looking for info those will be more useful.

We are all getting hounded on LinkedIn and probably having conversations with great companies and would like to know what everyone’s perspective is.

How does the amount of reps hitting goal on compgauge matter? And what is a good percentage to look for or above that amount? Majority of the companies ive been clicking on in comogauge average around 50%… that seems very low.

I'd use something like Repvue and CompGauge.

Just noticed that this has been suggested. But this is where I'd look.

The data there will be way more accurate than what you will get from asking people about their comp plans.

Stay away from Stock unless it's AWS, GCP, MSFT.

Always go for W2 as a rep.

Always look for opportunities where they need deals more than life itself and you know or feel strongly you can deliver.

Get over paid on a 2-3 year deal and that's how you work SaaS comp plans.

Find Leaders who are willing to hire you for a little bit more and keep finding more of them.  Compound your opportunities with other Sales Leaders.

Always be interviewing.

I agree with everything except "always be interviewing".. Reps who have consistent 12-16 month tenures on their resume says one thing and one thing only to me... they got through ramp and couldn't hack it to full quota so they jumped ship.

If you're crushing it and are a top performer, you'll stick around and ride the the gravy train, get some promotions to level up then look elsewhere on your own terms. If you're always interviewing, not only are you cheating yourself out of valuable work hours, but you're also tempting yourself to fall for a "grass is greener" facade to perpetuate the cycle.

Repvue seems great for this purpose. It can even help you filter out the information you care about the most.
