What to ask instead of "How are you?" on a call? Because let's be real, we're all doing horribly.

What types of warm / greeting questions do you ask when a prospect comes on a Zoom call that aren't "How are you?" / "How are things going?" / "How have you been?" etc.?

Instead of "how are you today" or "how was your weekend" I've experimented with "what are you excited about this week".  Gotten some good responses.  Almost like they're refreshed to be asked something different and people do like talking about themselves, especially if someone asked.

I really like that. You can then leverage something that puts them in a good headspace/they care about to continue to build a personal relationship with them.

if its Thurs/Fri, ask "Any exciting plans for the weekend? I'm going to a bday party for XYZ". If it's M-W, ask "how was the weekend? I went to my local park just to do some outdoor running, it was great!"

We all miss water cooler talk. And you should give your answer first, to break the ice.

Helpful! I'm asking less so for a cold call and moreso for a general greeting during a first / second scheduled meeting. Any thoughts on that?
