What to do with this tech stack?

Here is what I have to work with as an AE who is also doing my own prospecting while training an SDR


  • Salesforce
  • SalesNav
  • Seamless.



Thats it.


I have been trying to get any sort of sales enablement but keep getting shut down.

I have been told for 3 months that "you will have more tools when the merger is complete"


Just found out that the "tools" is marketo....and thats it.


I feel like im back in 2013.


What are the old school hacks im not thinking of????

the company i work for has SUCH insane requirements that I am unable to use any tool (even if its free) if it has to connect to our email or existing tech without a formal review by the company.

There are a lot of folks on here who like salesforce, I'm not one of them.

SalesNav is a waste of money in most cases. I only use LI for research.

Seamless is total garbage. I used it a couple of years ago and I'm confident in saying at least 75% of the leads were wrong numbers and email bounces.

Seamless reduced bounce rate over ZI by 18% at my last company. Itโ€™s much better than what it used to be. When paired with SalesNav itโ€™s a powerful combo.

That's good to know. I have a bad taste in my mouth for it because when I used it I was also the one paying for it so it's shitty performance was all the more irritating

I feel like there are a number of platforms that will give 1 seat away for free, hoping that you love it and can then be an internal champion. SalesReach comes to mind.ย 

Not related to prospecting, but Scratchpad is another free tool that may help with efficiency since you're on Salesforce.

Before I had an email sequencer I used a tool called text expander. Worked pretty wellย

Sales enablement is a nebulous term.

Are you looking for email sequencing / tracking?ย 

You might be able to get a single licenses of yesware/outreach for free or very low cost. Even if you have to pay out of pocket, it'd likely pay for itself after a deal.

I made my own sequences using their shortcut tools. Allowed me to insert templates with variable components with a few keystrokes. It doesn't do email tracking, but at least gets you out of copy/pasting.ย

yeah I wanted to use Yesware (ive used it before) but my company has such an intense review process for anything that is going to be connected to our system that my boss wont even support it.ย 

so my complaint is half about my tech stack and half about my companies unwillingness to support the sales team hahaย

I am not a fan of SalesNav as I would rather leverage ZI.ย  However with that being said, just try and show the most you can do with being able to highlight the limitations, then you can take those physical limitations to management so they can see something instead of imagining it.ย

Iโ€™d try to push for ZoomInfo and LeadIQ, Iโ€™ve never used seamless before but I hear mixed things about it. I live and breathe salesnav for prospecting, those saved searches are key.

@TennisandSales Our ideal customer is someone in product or engineering but sometimes we go after sales folks because our product does help people expand their TAM and Iโ€™ve had a COO buy the product. Our AEs have named accounts but as an SDR, we source our own leads. Idk if that answers your question.

@TennisandSales I had to get good at it because we donโ€™t get inbound leads for marketing. I use the saved searches to look for the technologies our product works with and the personas we go after.

WHOA. I mean, as an SC at a Sales Intelligence platform, I still was able to get the IT at a very large financial company that is red and gold to let us connect to their old af Exchange servers directly. This is quite dumb on the company's angle.ย

i 100% agree. and ive never seen anything like it before. They have our laptops locked down that if I even try to sign up for the free version of Yesware, as soon as I put my email address it, it gets blocked hahaย
