What type of sales training did you receive as a new hire?

Question

When you were hired, did they provide sales training or product training?

My sales training has been self administered via books and podcasts. I’ll be scouring this site for as much info as possible.

Just got accepted here today so if this has already been discussed, I’ll have to learn to search the site better.

Unfortunately it was very minimal training and a lot of “make sure to ask a lot of questions” (meaning throughout my tenure, not just while in training) which isn’t always the best approach.

I had a 1:1 with someone from the product team and that was it. I would recommend you keep reading your books and listening to podcasts.

They provided both which was great. Trained us on how to sell by using the product we sell.

I was given a few leads and told to dive in. I hit quota that quarter and the next 6 consecutively.

The last two companies I've worked for utilize the Force Management sales training. Additionally we had an immersion week for product training that was a combo of self-guided modules and in-person training with a SME.
