I liked it a lot coming from the region where we suffer the most from the consequences it's quite a different take from the angle of climate change and how this can impact poverty and create ripe environments for terrorism as well an honest take on western politcs and reaction.

It's an in-depth read, a lot of technical talk and case studies, it's taking the lean manufacturing principles pioneered by Toyota and applying them to start-ups (mainly SaaS).

It's a good read if you're in an early stage tech gig.

Well I might be too critical but I thought there was waaayy too much fluff. For example, the guy spends an entire chapter (about 30 pages) teaching you how to get in the zone... The last chapters are the ones that were interesting but it’s a small portion of that book. The entire time I was reading, I just kept thinking "alright get to the point."

The book has great ratings though so it might just be me.

Just finished Thinking in Bets by Annie Duke, thanks to The War Room. Great read, really excited about it. Already working to apply different mindsets/strategies.

Her WR zoom sesh was also extremely beneficial!

There are a ton of life advice books out there that provide broad and general "no shit?" advice but this one is actually practical. The most intriguing/controversial part of the book is where he discusses how systems are more optimal than goals, and that goals are for losers. That alone was an immediate wtf draw for me

I recommend it - a quick and easy read. Her methodical approach towards life planning is pretty hardcore and can be off-putting for some, but I respect her ambition and attitude towards goal-setting, risk-taking, mentorship, and family.

It was really interesting just to see such an extreme example of abuse in plain sight more or less, but also because her writing style was so unique, not really like anything else I've seen before.

Also interesting that of the 7 children in the family, those 3 who actually "left" to get educated all have phDs...

It’s a great read. It talks about how Phil Knight borrowed $50 from his father and was able to use that to turn Nike into what it is today!

I don’t want to give mug away. It’s something you should read!

Well, it's a pretty easy read. It's got so many good studies one can use while prospecting is quite great. Also, it's a definite eye-opener into how we see culture and how that influences our choices.
