What was your highest revenue contribution as an SDR and AE in a year?

Hi, i am curious to learn about the successes of the community and would love to learn ay lessons learned from those achievements. The problem with your question is that not every "widget" is the same price nor every industry the same. Its not an apples-to-apples comparison, in th slightest.

You might say "ok, its apples-to-oranges" but in many cases its "apples-to-hyenas" or some other outlandish and far-fetched comparison.

FOR EXAMPLE:

So if I sold $1m, that looks pretty good. But if my quota is $10m, retiring 10% of quota sucks. Conversely, if I sold $100, but my quota is $20, I'm swinging the biggest dick around at 500% of quota.

The logical validity of your argument needs to be rooted in internal consistency, which it isn't. So any conclusions you draw from the answers displayed, are 💩.

Hi, Very fair observations. in all fairness i did outlay the question in a clear manner indicating someone's best performance in a given year. Second i am fond of Good judgment which is the ability to make the right decision despite the lack of or faulty information.

The one question i wished to ask as a follow up in the comment section (as per the above comments) is the industry or sector in which they operate in i.e. manufacturing and machinery sales is different from SaaS nice to haves in the HR space.

my intentions are to be respectful of what people may feel confortble sharing but equally trust that every sales professional to use their good judgement. if you sold $1mil and that was your highest in any year as a sales professional and your industry is cybersecurity SaaS the well done.

Another one is Closed won rates which shines light on your performance as a closer (depending on industry) but doesn't also necessary equate to hitting quota.

Hope this helps clarify things. Nonetheless i truly appreciate your feedback. Very constructive and grateful for it. I am new here and still learning. Wish you the best for this year.

Hi, You are entitled to your assumptions. i sure do not make any but rather ask. As an AE my biggest achievement was $1Mil in 7 months doing 300% of quota in the cybersecurity space. I have my linedin linked to my account.


I like to believe that i am intellectually curious and learning from people's hard learned lessons or how Charlie munger says it " Learn vicariously from others".

Yea for sure money was there. Problem is that it’s difficult to do conference sales without some sort of lying involved. No executive wants to be pitched on an event.

That’s what drove me away. Couldn’t stand the lying even though the money made most people stay.

At the same company, I had a $600k quarter that put me at 200% of quota+ and a $3.2M quarter that put me at 40% of quota

Hi, excuse my ignorance. Was this a ramp up quota cause 3.2 Mil in a quarter almost indicates you had a yearly quota of $7Mil. I am happy you had that experience not many people do that kind of sales in a hear. May i ask what was the industry ? If thats ok to ask. Thank you

Not a problem at all! It wasn't a ramp quota, just different roles; Mid-market AE vs Federal AE. Industry was infrastructure monitoring software.

Early in my career I dropped $3M on a $400k quota. Was fired 2 month later because I was booking 12 meetings a month and not the 15 the owner wanted.
