What watches are you all into

Ok, I know in todays world, watches are stupid and materialistic. But like the great philosopher Madonna, I too am a material girl.

So I've got a bunch of classic watches. Omegas. Panerai. Pateks. The usual stuff. But I've found myself dressing more like a 40yr old ex-rockstar on days off and I really want a Devon. It's the belts. I just love that.

Anyone else loving bonkers watches? And what other weird watches are out there. All I've seen before the Devon was the Tiffany and co ones.

I don't wear smart watches. I never want to be that connected.

I have mad respect for beautiful watches, even though I haven't worn one in the last year.

I used to love “real watches” until I started wearing an Apple Watch a few years back. Every once in a while I’ll throw on the Tag or Seiko for a night out where I want to disconnect.

Same, I wear my Apple Watch daily. Special occasions I’ll throw on a Shinola.

I do like these. Of course the one I like the most is over a buck. Story of my life haha.

Rolex - got two of 'em already. They are gold-like investments + their prestige never dies.

Ya, that's the reason I buy watches instead of vehicles now. 100k watch will be worth at least that (depending on mineral price in the future), a 100k E class won't be worth anything in 10 years.

the Pepsi rolly is the ultimate prize. Instantly worth more than paid and still somewhat reasonable/

I've always liked Rolexes and was fortunate to win one and buy a second back when I had disposable income and they weren't stratospheric.  I wear them though--ocean, beach, whatever.  I just like the watches and their movements.

Tudor makes some cool mechanical watches at decent pricepoints with nice designs as well

Search brought me here to revive a dead thread ;)

I've always been into mechanical things from motorbikes that my father had years ago through to tinkering with cars when I was growing up (had 14 of the suckers over the years) and now I've fallen into watches in recent years.

Like what has been mentioned already, some buy for investment (Rolex, PP, AP, etc) but I personally am just not a smart watch guy => I don't want my entire life to be connected, and after selling SaaS all week I actually want less software and tech in my personal life.

I switch between my Tudor BB GMT, Cartier Santos Medium, GMTII Rootbeer and Datejust, but I've always got room in my week for my trust old Seiko 5. Seiko actually got me into automatic movements years ago.
