Whats the craziest thing someone has said to you on the phone because they were mad you called them?

I had a job for a short time were I made 700 calls a day to consumers about refinancing their homes. Where I was called a lot of names, yelled at, cussed at, told I was going to hell ext... haha the job was terrible hence why I left! still prolly the worst or best one I got was a guy said that i'm the scum of the earth and he is going to find and kill me and my family... hahah so I would love to hear other stories that people have of mad people they called!

I know I wouldn't either until I did it... we were on a dialer that just once one ended another popped up and most days we worked were 10-11 hours... it was the worst thing I have ever done and thats why I only lasted a month hahah

I was being berated by some stoner operating a 420 friendly motel and I couldn’t get a word in so just hung up. Stoner calls back to yell at me about it being illegal to hang up on someone in Canada. (He was in Canada. Or at least thought he was)

most calls were really short because I got hung up on before I could really say anything other than my name and company, then they would hang up. also a lot of people didn't answer so that takes no time too

Guy told me not to interupt his squash game... I laughed and asked why he answered the phone in the middle of his game. He said to never call again. I waited 2 weeks and called back. Haha

I laughed and said okay bye...apparently she gets amazing deals paying 70 dollars more for her items at Costco then she would with us..needless to say I was excited to actually buy from their business and ended up not cuz why would I wanna deal with ppl who on the first time they meet me are a Karen

Wow I came in to start a thread like this because yesterday one of our SDR's was calling a guy who picked up and said "stop calling me or I will find you and eat your first born." Call was recorded so I was able to listen to it. Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't heard it for myself.

Called an office and the moment the woman heard the name of my company she had a legit mental break. She started screaming/wailing that we must be stalking her, how did we get her number, why won't you just leave me alone?!

I sat back and listened until she calmed down a bit then I apologized and ended the call. Obviously something else was going on.

Well she went to Yelp and left a scathing review about our predatory tactics and she thinks we've been following her home and she's scared for her safety.

This ended up on the radar of the VP of Marketing who lost her shit, went to the CEO, who went to my VP, who then stood me up in front of the team as an example of bad behavior to my peers. Then the call recording was played, he heard me be calm and professional, then ruled that the woman was "batshit" and everyone should get back to work. Fun Wednesday afternoon.
