When someone cold calls you, what do you do?

I know there are people of all roles here, so I'm mainly targeting this towards the non decision making sales roles.

When someone cold calls you for a product, service or whatever it may be what do you do right away?

Are you the prospect that hangs up right away or gives them a chance to hear their pitch?

*Personally I like to hear them out to see if there's anything I could steal to throw into my talk tracks! hah*

I give them 10 seconds, then decide what to do from there. If it is a clever opening or they have clearly done research, I humor them. But if it is clearly a canned script they are just reading word for word, nah I typically hang up.

Auto call or scripted I'm out. But everyone gets a shot. Unless I was waiting on a call or jumping on a call then I tell them call back another time and hang up.

It's funny listening to Cold calls! Always a good opportunity to see what you can sound like from your customers shoes isn't it?

Qualify them. What are you slingin'? What level are you selling to? Can I help this guy shoot his shot? Not a fit, not a problem to say, "not me bro".
