Where are my fellow 1099 reps?

Hello my fellow War Roomers!

So I am starting a SDR role next week as a 1099 employee with plans to be brought onboard as a direct employee after 3 to 6 months. Has anyone here ever worked in a role like this or currently works as a 1099 employee? Do you have any advice for someone that has never worked in a space like this? Questions I should be asking my future employer? Apps or websites that help with tax purposes/planning?

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

1099 FOR LIFE!!

You must download the Quickbooks Self-Employed app, and use it religiously. Pay for all the features, and write that off too. If you're WFH you should definitely study up on deduction rules in your state with regard to your home office. Deduct/write off EVERYTHING and save receipts/log them into the app.

I have a couple of 1099s as an independent consultant right now and Quickbooks is literally the devil. I got the quick start and messed it up so badly I had to try and clear the data only to find that the program I signed up for doesnโ€™t allow you to do it.ย

Id rather pay an accountant exorbitant fees than have to waste antoher week dealing woth that nightmareย

Thank you for this! Do you know of any apps that help you keep track of receipts for 1099 employees?

You can scan receipts into the app and it logs them for you. You can later pull a report on yourself by date, vendor, location, etc.

I have an AE offer right now for a startup, but since they don't have a presence in my state, they want to bring me on as a contractor until they get up and running. They're fairly established at this point and are well funded (and profitable)... It had me a bit worried with the "contractor" part of it, but after looking through the specifics and talking to my financial advisor, it's looking like a pretty dope opportunity.

When they bring you on as a direct-hire do they plan to make you a W2 employee?
