I had a manager that LOVED using the top method. At the end of the day we just did what needed to be done in the order it needed to be done. Churching it up did nothing to help the team.
Top approach is like a bloated tech stack instead of just practice. New SDR at a well funded startup vs. grizzled AE that started full cycle before SDR was even a thing.

I've literally had to make the top for my boss (took waaaay too long and I learned way more about a certain page of excel than anyone not an analyst should) and I don't know I ever saw it again and I doubt he fucking gave it a 2nd or 3rd glance....

Mostly top approach but approach number 2 is better when an over busy day comes in the way(which is mostly) so I guess approach no. 2.
