Which job offer would you take?

Job Offer 1:

90k base

Company SUV

OTE is $225k

401k with 6% match

Tuition Reimbursement

Salesforce CRM

Other “nice perks”

-I would be selling physician office medical equipment that have already been sold to with success in the territory

Job Offer 2:

85k base

No company car(they reimburse gas/mileage)

OTE is $200-300k

CRM is an excel spreadsheet

-I would be selling physician office medical equipment that has NOT been sold to in the territory. Disruptive technology sold around the US except the D.C. market.

Please advise, anyone?

Job #1 without a doubt. They won't reimburse you for the wear and tear on your car, and you didn't mention 401k for the second job either so off those two alone I'd take the first one.

No marketing, mayo isn't an MQL
#1 - Company Car + 401k match adds up.

Also excel hell is yikes

Option number 1 for me, higher base, car, and 401k alone should make it, if not, they actually have a CRM and seem to know what they are doing.

Why go for 2?

Well, it really depends on what's driving you. If it's money and comfort you seek, selling in the fish tank. I'd say go with 1. Nothing wrong there, it seems like you got a nice offer. If instead you value more the "thrill of the hunt", go with 2.

I’d be choosing #1 all day… there’s so much to be said how how easy it is to hit OTE when your prospects are familiar and you have a MIF (machines in field) to reference.

I’d go #1 too. Having an established company and existing client base is going make it much easier to hit your numbers and make $$$

1 for sure, is there something else you've not said here because from what you've listed it seems like a no brainer, what's holding you back?

Good question. I like selling new, disruptive technology. I have a good reach with a lot of doctors so it makes sense I can push something new pretty fast.

So I guess the higher OTE is the sticking point then? Is any of it negotiable for either offer? to try at least to get them more on the same numbers so you can pick based on product/ team vibes?

TAKE THE JOB WITH THE CAR and the other benefits.

I can tell you from personal experience. The company paying more and investing in you will be better long term.

It's also a massively competitive industry.

They want to take care of you so you can take care of them.

Another thing. For that second job, they are hiring you with the expectation that you will successfully enter the market for them. It won't be sold because of great marketing, advertising, brand name recognition, or anything else. It will literally be all you.

Why work harder when you can work smarter?
