Not my story but it's the best one I've heard that suits this situation:
A friend of mine worked at a company where marketing decided to send out text blasts to prospects urging them to act on a special offer...of course sales was not notified beforehand. To do this, marketing pulled names and cell numbers from the CRM and mass texted them all. We all have used CRM fields incorrectly either by mistake or on purpose to make notes so a lot of texts went out like this:
Hi UNKNOWN!
Hi Bob CHINESE (People would note this so whoever was calling knew that they should know how to speak Mandarin/Cantonese, it wasn't a racist thing.)
Hi Female Manager
And likely worse...we've all seen accounts where a rep was in their feelings and entered a name in as RUDE GATEKEEPER or something lol. I'd be so pissed if that was my prospect and if I was the marketing dummy who did it I'd be ashamed forever.

hahahahaha no wonder a few of my prospects went dark. Marketing does this shit all the time to me and quite a few of my CRM inputs were to be an ass internally. I never thought about the consequences. Thanks for the heads up and lolz!!!

I may or may not (definitely) put in a few Black Metal bands as prospects. DMs are the literal band members with the address and phone number of the last gig they played in nyc.

Sent internal notes saying how much of an ass someone was to the prospect on accident.
My worst nightmare.
While texting a female colleague I used “voice-to-text”. Long story short a word i said was transcribed to “tear up the ass”. Thought i was going to faint when i got the “what?” Text and re-read the message.
This made me chuckle.
NGL I suffer from impostor syndrome. Never thought it was a real thing and just my shitty self-confidence until I saw someone mention it somewhere online.
I'll stress out at home late at night, thinking I'm not good enough and I'm going to get fired, lose my house and disappoint my wife and kid. I know it makes no sense given my win rate (check my wins, fam), but fuck me if I can't seem to shake that feeling I'm worthless every once in a while.

Not my story, but my AE (when I was an SDR) thought his camera was off during a demo, and was hitting the Juul the entire time!
The deal ended up closing, but not without them mentioning how unprofessional it was to be smoking on camera.
Together, my AE and I, had to go through SFDC and clean any trace of that comment, AND find a way to delete the Gong.
I was new, and my rev ops manager saw that I was deleting content out of SFDC and was so scared I was going to get fired, or hurt my reputation bc I didn't want to snitch on my coworker.
But all is good now!

Had a prospect telling me that her Mom had a stroke, and she was about to walk in to a Doctors appt. for her.
Acknowledged it said sorry about that then asked for a working email for her right after. Immediate hang up lol. Probably shoulda just told her sorry and that I’d reach out later.
Work is work. No matter how successful you think you are, you’re always replaceable. Nothing should keep you up at night in regards to a work fuck up. Learn from your mistakes, move on, don’t dwell on it. Ok rant over.

My first demo call ever. I started a sentence with "If this is too expensive". I still cringe at this memory at least once a week, and this was forever ago.
Had a huge Electrical Consumer Company that was based in Ireland but was International. The CEO told me to message the COO and gave me his email, the guy responded with some times, I replied, accidentally called him a different name in the email and now two years later him nor his colleagues will reply to me.
Sending over a rough draft for pricing on an RFP that was valued around $3M. Luckily, the supply chain guy liked me and resubmitted it. Safe to say, I double check every damn time now.
I had 2 customers receiving bad services in the last years. And of course it was just the 2 people I encounter a lot because they live very close. Really sucks
None. Gotta learn to leave it at the office
I had an 8m opp passed to me and i didnt contact everyone associated. I eventually lost the deal and during the postmortem everyone could see my dismal single threaded activity.
Completely not work related - but the other week I went to barber shop for a haircut (moved to a new town) and after the cut was completely off-guard and botched the dap.
I literally still think about this to this day.
