White Claws and Fidget Spinners

This one is for @CuriousFox ... J/K, but for reall, we need to send her some white claws(mango ifkyk)

But anyway... I am curious, how have some of you broken some habits that tend to distract you from working or paying attention. I have an issue with playing with a fidget spinner or clicking a pen or something that keeps me busy.

Now, I know that I don't I have ADHD or anything, but I just get bored with the call and need something for my hands to do. I am used to flying at a million miles a second due to being in the ever-restless restaurant industry for over 15 years. Although it has been a few years since leave the industry and going into sales, I still have the issue with needing to keep moving.

What are maybe some things that you have had to overcome or habits you had to break?

Speaking too fast and getting ahead of myself, which can lead to interruptions.

I find it's much easier to avoid on the phone, but in person it can be tougher.

And in terms of fidget spinner alternatives that don't make noise - I got myself those hand exerciser things you squeeze. Helps with grip strength (for rock climbing, though it's been awhile) and is silent. Plus makes your forearms look jacked.

Adding: I IMMEDIATELY thought of foxy when I read your title

Bad work habits - you mean looking at Bravado every 5 mins?

Personally - I can't stand working in complete silence so I keep some music going nearly all day, unless I'm on a call or something. Its just white noise mostly but I try to limit it to something classical during the work day.

Checking my phone during a meeting. I've put it aside and found that turning the camera on keeps me more focused.

I am the same way and was also troubled by it, but I recently took an online course on productivity/time management which had some interesting things to say about it.

There was a quiz to determine what sort of learner you were (audio, visual, or tactile). Depending on your result, it gave suggestions of how best you can absorb information during work/in meetings.

I tested as tactile, and they suggested that having something to fidget with can lead to better information processing, as I learn best tactilely.

I currently just play with my pen during all my calls, or under the table in person

The hardest part is starting. Once you realize that, you are able to get a bunch done. Just start and go from there
