A shitty rep still understands the market and more or less how to communicate to prospects. A marketer would have an aneurysm the first time they have to go through legal/procurement, the first time they have to make a cold call, and the first time they get ghosted (at a minimum).

I am not sure how many aneurysms it is possible to survive consecutively, but my money is on the shitty rep in this scenario.

Sales reps are trained in marketing, but not every in marketing can make a sale.

The worst sales rep would do well. They can bring in 3 intern attendees to a webinar that have no authority to buy anything ever, and experience no consequences or ramifications for the lack of performance. They pull that shit in sales and they're PIP'd out very quickly.

The best marketer would send every lead to a webinar and then wonder why they didn’t close anything at the end of the month

Our marketing department is trying to get every AE to use a sequence pushing prospects to a webinar. Very frustrating.

If sales people didn’t have quotas, and were paid just a flat rate of whatever they sold, do you think think that A)Salespeople would work just as hard? B) Create a better culture within the Sales Org? C) Create better relationships with their buyers?
