Who Prospects On The Weekends?

I see so many LinkedIn posts about people working on the weekend by getting their cadence lined up, etc. Personally, when the weekend comes I am focused on myself not work.

Do you work on the weekend

For prospecting activities? Absolutely not... there are some rare occasions that I don't get everything I needed to done by the end of work Friday so I may spend an hour or two max on Sunday catching up, mostly if it's prepping for a pitch on Monday or if I had a number of follow ups I didn't get out, I will type them up and set them to go out first thing Monday morning (never sending on the wknd).

I think for the most part people who post about this are looking for cred, "hey look at me I'm so dedicated, I hustle.. blah blah"

Do not be that person lol.

It's important to unplug on the weekend and have your life, It makes sense when you're first starting off and making a name for yourself you're going to be putting in the extra work to build that reputation- which is fine, but just keep it in moderation if you do and know that you should get to a point where you don't need to do that.

Well said. I agree about unplugging if you don't find that time you are going to come across as stressed on the phone!

+1 on the unplugging part. Easy to burn out if you don't

I used to do some late Sunday night sending as I know a lot of folks catch up on their stuff late on Sundays, but nothing majorly high volume.

If (when) I'm at a bar on a Saturday and happen to strike up good convo with some whippersnapper, I usually try to ask what they do. If they happen to have a business where I can add value, I give them a business card and ask for one in return. So yeah, I kind of am prospecting on weekends. Prospecting can be done anywhere man.

I make it a point to unplug during the weekend. I might have a couple of cadences where emails land on prospect’a inboxes on a Sunday. I’m not working though lol

Some parts of the modern Enterprise, IT especially, will start their workweek Sunday afternoon. I only ever used messaging then on the weekends and only if i had exhausted all other options. Not a good thing to come out of the gate with. But if there has been some communication with that person before it can result in a quick response, as they are typically in a good mood, and not working on the weeks projects yet, just cleaning up the inbox in preperation.

Use that as me time, there’s no amount of money that’s worth taking away any of your 52 weekends a year.....those that post crap like that on LinkedIn are just looking for a pat on the back.

These days, no. I used to do this hungover on Sundays for a few years though. I do schedule messages to send on Sunday afternoon/evening though because the response rate from execs is way higher.

Not prospecting on the weekend but do schedule emails/cadences to be sent out on Sunday evening (after dinner) and get *awesome* open rates and replies.

Most folks (especially C-level) may check email on Sunday evenings as they prep for the week.

Nope. Like others have said - the weekend is time to unplug from work. You’ll burn out if you don’t give yourself a break.

Congrats to those people on linked in that do work all weekend. I’d like to check in in 5 years and see how they’re still holding up and what their personal life is like.

I do my prospecting during the week, but schedule emails to go out over the weekend. A lot of the senior leaders in my markets play catch up on their inboxes on Sundays so there tends to be a good way to get an answer out of someone who has been hard to nail down.
