Having worked in the sales tool space, the buyers for these are the Sales ops leadership with Sales leadership buy in. As much of a pain in the ass that ops can be at certain times, they are the ones who have to maintain and integrate it, and let's be honest, most of these tools are made for reporting purposes at the end of the day.

That said, getting input from the users in the field is what smart companies do. The field may like certain tools more than others, but the backend integrations and reporting are more critical to the business than ease of use for the field.
