Who tf does this

I cold called a guy's cell last week but got the wrong number. This person answered and pretended to be my prospect saying "I'm no longer active at my company it sounds like a cool product though, please reach out to my CFO." 

Today I called into the main office and told the gatekeeper the story. He put me on hold and asked me to repeat it. I did and immediately my prospect picks up and says "I'm (prospect name) and I'm still active at this company. I will never do business with you guys." Then he hangs up.

I call back that cell number and asked what the fuck just happened. The dude laughs and says it's a prank.
