Why didn't you hit your commit?

The question I'm sure all of you guys have faced at some point during QBR. Today I'm going into my 2nd QBR having missed my commit pretty significantly. What do you think I should say when they inevitably asked me why I didn't hit?

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Were you forced to commit more than you were comfortable with? That has definitely been a factor for me.

Adding to this. If you were forced to put an opp into that phase give your manager that reminder.

that happened to me too for June/Q2 but a the 2 big deals that took it up got moved to July and are closing this week.
Really just depends how much quarter to quarter matters to leadership and why the deals either pushed or lost

In the past as much as it sucks I've just always been super honest as to why that happens because if you try to bullshit and tell a story (which I have) they see right through it

hope that helps

"Commitment" is such a bullshit term I can't stand when sales managers corner you into it.
