Did you know that there's a certain HCM company out there that, if you beat your performance plan by 148%, they'll extend it anyways and then when a deal slips because your grandfather passes away the Friday morning before month end, they will fire you?
Let me tell you all a lovely story.
I have been at COMPANY REDACTED for one year, on quota for, what, 9 months? On a plan for 5 months. Oh and I didnโt have a leader until February. June was my first month on quota with them. My manager got fired. They didn't replace him until FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR.
Enterprise AE. 2-4 month sales cycles most times. 9 Months of Quota. 5 Months of a performance plan. 98% rolling attainment. 1 Month of Having a Leader. One Dead Grandfather.
Oh I was the third out of 5 to be laid off from that original team that had no manager for a year. The others were let go before me because they did not beat their plan (AGAIN, I was 148% of the laid out plan, by the way).
Like "cool guys thanks and also donโt worry about my meetings on Friday this week I already found coverage on them because I am attending my grandfathers fucking funeral."
I had posted here that I was optimistic about beating my plan when it happened. I did beat it. A PIP is a death sentence. Thankfully I already have two interviews lined up for tomorrow with a competitor.
