Will there be a time when Sales is looked more over and above the NUMBERS alone? "Person" behind and in Sales person will/should be counted too?

The role of a salesperson is to bring in new business and make money for the company. That will always be top priority. I'd say most decent companies care about us as people too, but just because someone is a nice/funny/caring/warm and fuzzy person, it doesn't mean they should be in sales or be kept in sales.ย 

I wouldn't want it any other way. Sales is one profession that ANYONE can find success in. Come from a poor family? No problem. No college degree? Who cares. Woman, man, 20 years old or 50 years old, nerd or party animal, we all have the same ability to do well.ย

How do you all handle a situation where a prospect has a contract approved and is ready for signature, but one of their family members just passed away? Want to be extremely sensitive to the situation...feel there's never a "right" time to reach out and never want to be salesy...
