Women, how much time on looking great?

if you are a woman or friends of gorgeous looking women. here is a question about professional growth from a curious fellow male peer.

Being woman and being in Customer Facing roles - do you pay lot of attention in looking good ?

what % of time do you spend on your physical health (which I think is important for all genders) and how much time and money  do you allocate to polishing make ups to aid in looking good?

does this build up a peer pressure over time ?

Don't do much personally. I only wear makeup on occasion and don't like to waste too much time on how I look.

I will say, though, that having boobs has been a huge benefit.

I always look great.

Look, it's the same as anything else customer-facing. You need to look professional and polished.

The rest of your question is ??? I mean, guys, how much time do you spend in the gym and on products to make you look good? How many guys out there are gorgeous handsome men? How did you get there? Are you staring over at Jim and gritting your teeth because he got more reps in and has bigger guns? What is this, middle school?

Daily I'd say 10 min make-up, 15 min hair, and at least 30 min physical movement. So 4-5% of my day is spent on appearances? I've always felt like someone who does like to spend time looking good because I will always do hair and make-up on any workday, not just client days.

That said, everyone's version of feeling good on the outside is different. I haven't seen or perceived much peer pressure around physical appearance, but have occasionally witnessed judgment around dress and apparel.

If I have no meetings where I’m required to be on camera, I’m in pajamas , no makeup and hair up. If I do, I spend probably 30 total minutes doing my hair, makeup and picking out an unwrinkled shirt. That said, I only do enough to look good via Zoom

Hard enough to look “naturally” good.

Which…is a lot more makeup and time than you might think.

Nothing against women who spend the time to do full glam, but it’s not my personal brand.

Whether we like it or not the reality is that there’s a lot of old pervs who profile certain kinds of women. I just want their money. So I find the balance between “she’s attractive” and “damn she’s sexy”.

Don’t hate the player.

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
One woman I know told me she spends at least an hour getting ready - shower, makeup, etc.

Another I used to work with told me she spends about 20min (outside the shower) to get ready in the AM.

Both are equally attractive and professional in their appearance.

I currently work with 1 woman who throws a jacket &/or scarf on for client calls (all remote, nothing in person) and that's it. She looks fine too.

As a man who's managed and worked with women for 20+ years, I have seen it all. Women tend to either completely outclass the guys in professional appearance. I find that inspirational personally.

Depends on the day, my hair looks good air dry or done. I look good with or without makeup. I’ve sold the biggest deal in company history at my heaviest. I’m bringing in the company’s biggest deal in company history at my skinniest in 3 years.

Point is if you are confident and have skills it doesn’t matter. No one asks the fat sales VP in a golf polo what his morning routine is, so don’t ask women and come at it like it isn’t a dumb ass question.

So, most people I know did not plan on becoming a sales person initially, it just happened. So, curious to know how my fellow warriors here ended up in sales anyway ? The more interesting stories the better..!!
