When I had a company phone I also kept my own phone. It's a real pain in the ass to update your phone number and if you lose that job, you lose that number. It was worth it to me to keep the work stuff and personal stuff separate -- especially considering I was working for a public financial services company.

I have two phones for the same reasons. I'm the only one in my department that kept a personal phone though. All my colleagues think its nuts to spend the extra money + the hassle of carrying two phones.

Can you add option, company doesn't offer a phone? That's where im at. They however give me mobile allowance.
But yea even if I had the option, id stick with personal so id save my prospect or customers numbers incase I move somewhere else.

@SalesPharoh Saving your prospects in your personal phone is a great idea ! Especially if your next job is in the same industry. Its a lot less complicated than keeping the business cards. Mine are saved on both phones but they are linked to my work outlook. I might have to change that so I don't lose them if I change jobs.

No mine are linked to my personal email so it makes my life easier should I make a move. I try and sync contact from outlook to device and device to gmail to have my own database.

If you lose the access to the outlook, would you lose the contacts ?

Well yea since it is linked to the corporate drive cloud. But when i use my phone it automatically syncs over my personal could.

Just tried adding it but I wasn't able to.
@GeneralCorp is there a way to add a poll choice after the poll has been posted ? SalesPharoh had a good suggestion for an extra choice.

Trousers with large (or lots of) pockets. Cargo pants are my go to if I have to carry them on my person.

Personal phone as well so when I save numbers they can't be wiped by IT remotely if I leave the org. Also, my work phone is an iPhone and I HATE iPhones. That's right. I said it!

IT wiping your phone from a distance is definitely a valid response. Hating iPhone isn't

I have had my own personal phone for 20 years, I aint getting rid of it. My companies have always issued office mobile (cell) phones. I like the idea that I can turn off when I am on holiday or when I simply want a break.

I buy my own phone and put both my personal and company sim card into it. That or just use your personal number and get the company to pay for your plan.

I've been meaning to try that ! What phone do you use that allows you to use dual sim cards ? And does one of the sim cards have to be an e-card ?

Right now I'm using a xiaomi 9, which is basically a Galaxy s20 but half the price. It is a dual sim card phone.

Looking at the new pixel 6 which would be one esim one regular sim. I think all the newer iPhones can also do that, but I'm android 4 lyfe.

I find you have to buy the phone outright as all the carriers have only single sim Samsung phones. Keep in mind too that I think with dual SIM you generally can't access 5G service, at least while dual service it's active.

It's strange cuz dual SIM phones are super popular in Europe and Asia where networks tend to be segregated and sporadic. Not so much the case in North America so you're often better off trying to get a phone from overseas.

Check out kimovil.com to get more info on phones and check frequencies to make sure they work in your area.

Its' better to use your personal cell phone, save the contact info, the company will pay for your bill and when you move, you have all of your contacts. If you stay organized, you're able to get a head start at your new company!

It’s like a google phone number that is connected to your smart phone. But there’s lots of types. Such as dialpad, air call, ring central etc

I think this is the best option if you're going to have only one phone. Unfortunately my company doesn't allow that. The number becomes theirs if you use your personnel number.

Would never solely use a corporate phone. They can take it away anytime, look through everything you’ve done, etc. no privacy
