Small example: Already getting more of my time back now that my kids are older and self-sufficient. That's time back for myself that I haven't had for decades. So yes, I agree, we all have 24 hours, but are those hours available to us in the same way? No.

Seriously - enjoy it. It goes by super fast, and you'll find you miss those little imps even as they're replaced by super cool near and neo adults. Honestly, I enjoyed all phases, but unless you're a super selfish entitled person, you really don't have a lot of time to yourself until they can get themselves to school, practice, etc. Now I'm looking at my final year of watching youth sports and realizing how much I'll miss it. So, yeah, enjoy as much as you can.

Circumstances often allow for people to achieve opportunities that aren't attainable to others. A single mom doesn't have the same bandwidth as let's say a young male living at home with mom and dad.

But to your question, it depends what you do with that time despite your circumstances. If that mom is able to move from being a grocery clerk to an online account manager, they are executing every possible opportunity (and is a social correction/benefit that came out of the pandemic)

It's not easy, but the harsh reality is everyone has to make do with what they have, and everyone owes it to themselves to strive for nothing but the best.

Same time, yes. How we use that time is entirely up to the individual and their responsibilities. It all comes down to priorities, people do exactly what they want when they want.

We have different resources, support and privilege; agreed. But we can't ignore the fact that we are built (biologically) different as well. Few of us need more downtime / rest as opposed to others. We have only few focus hours, while others may have a lot of focus hours in their day.

Also, we have different responsibilities.

I roll my eyes so hard everytime I hear this quote.

Yes! It bothers me so much when people say this! If you're a parent, your 24 hours are not the same as my 24 hours as a childfree person. If you have money to pay for convenience (takeout instead of cooking, hiring a cleaning person instead of doing it yourself, etc.), your 24 hours aren't the same as someone who needs to do those things themselves.

Very true. Parenting, as so saliently put by @Sunbunny31, @1nbatopshotfanand others, as well as being remote and eliminating the commute are two things that come top of mind and can't really be argued.

I do also agree with @Coastal_crusherabout owing it to ourselves to strive for the best.

I definitely agree with this. However, if you want to use your circumstances, resources (or lack thereof), etc as an excuse for not succeeding I disagree with you.

We can't change the hand that we're dealt. We can only change how we play that hand.

while this is true still doesn't change anything. We've all been dealt a specific hand of cards and have to play them to our best ability

I have four kids, all under ten. Two under 5. My 24 hours are not nearly enough, and their non-linear view of the time-space continuum makes for a nearly impossible balance.

Also, I recognize my privilege that I have access and the means to healthcare and professional services that help support my needs. I recommend looking in to the concepts of tunneling in relation to time and financial resources.

I think we all have the 24 hrs per day, I know thatwe all have different responsibilities, however, we all have the ability to organize ourselves and take the time we need, I know that for some it is very difficult, but simply feeling bad about yourself does not usually help you, it is preferable to demand yourself and progress regardless how difficult the road is
