That's close enough that I'd rather just take the straight cash.

Seriously... If it was 150 vs 300, then sure.

But can't beat that security and steady pay

You can’t bank on OTE though. You can say “salary $1, OTE $1million” it doesn’t mean a thing.

Totally agree, but that would at least make it worthy of consideration. At this spread it's not a question at all.

250k guaranteed. I'd be so much better at my job without the stress of the unknown.

Really interesting, almost every one here wanting the sure money, but no companies that I know of exploring no commish positions.

Because a no-commish sales position is one of two things
1) High base that a rep won't be motivated to sell enough to actually be worth the base
2) Low base that the rep wont be motivated enough to sell at all

Why work twice as hard at a chance of making lots of money if I can take guaranteed lots of money?

Depends on the product. The base salary being high puts a target on you. My OTE is above that number and I hit over 200% the past couple of years, so it’s been nice.

Yeah, if you're over OTE, life gets pretty cushy. If OTE is real haha and not what we'd like OTE to be.

250k would get taxed much less than 300k OTE. You would make more money on that 250k in salary because of taxes.

Not to be that guy but with 200k of your first option comin in commission the taxes on that are probably gonna make it equal the straight income anyways so option 2 100%

Y’all need to educate yourselves on taxes. Salary and commission are taxed the same. As you hit each new income bracket, you’re only paying higher taxes on the money above that threshold, not on your entire income.
