Would you rather sell to SMB or Enterprise? Why?

I have sold to both SMB and Enterprise but I am curious to see other's opinions if they've had the chance to sell to both. There are pros and cons to both but I would love to hear people's thoughts.

Would you rather sell to SMB or Enterprise? Why?

I prefer enterprise. As long as you've got a great base, long sales cycle don't matter bc when they do close ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿค‘ in my current role, I work deals for 6 months plus. Been working one since Sept, got the verbal commit today, and I'll make over $100k commission. Worth it to me ๐Ÿ’ฏ

The quick transactions are fun. And if you are good enough, you can make just as much as enterprise and not be hounded by the vp of sales all dau

Enterprise has wayyyy too much red tape. Unless you're ok with long ass deal cycles, SMB is easier and eager to scale.

I went from SMB to Enterprise and I am struggling with not going crazy with the long ass cycles. It's been hard for me to adjust. I miss the quick wins. A quick win for me today is getting a meeting set lol

I've done both. SMB is better. Also depends on what you're selling

I've been doing SaaS the past 5 years. Love it and want to continue with it. I've definitely learned a lot of great skills in my enterprise role but again with SMB I always had a sales high. I loved the week long sales cycles, maybe a month long. Now I am dealing with 18 month sales cycles.ย

SMB often has less red tape and corp bureaucracy so it can be more easy going

Enterprise. Yes the deal cycle is longer, but that is where the big money is.ย

SMB has its perks: fast deal cycles, less BS during procurement, and if something falls through it can be replaced fairly quickly. I imagine its much more devastating for a large enterprise deal to lose interest or chose the competition at the end of a long cycle.ย ย

Definitely sucks losing a deal after working it for over a yearย
