Wwyd? * 2 weeks notice * Giving away opportunities/appointments?

If you are BDR and you put your 2 week notice in, and any opportunities you get you will not get paid on, would you give your fellow BDR's the opportunities/appointments or hog them for yourself to make yourself look good upon exit?? KNOWING, no one will get paid except the AE?? Especially if you consider 1 or 2 your "friend"?

*THIS IS NOT ABOUT ME* Someone I know!

HOG em??

How would you look good upon exit for just keeping opportunities?

If I'm not going to get paid on them, someone else might as well. I'd toss them to my colleagues that I liked.

That is what I am confused about!! Like I get wanting to show that your still working, but to me that is just a stupid mentality to have.

It's pretty obvious that once someone puts their two weeks in, they're not going to be busting their ass for the company anymore. As long as you're not totally brazen about the fact that you're not working, most companies won't care.

I'm surprised your company doesn't just pay people out for their two weeks and let them go home. They know you're not going to be incentivized to do anything, so why have them around the office causing distractions to others?

Relationships are more valuable than you're own merit. Your current peers will become your network, and many BDRs promote to better positions at better companies later on. Spoil your coworkers :)

I think most sales orgs would just let the person go once they see/have someone put their notice in. Honestly it makes no sense for the org to keep them on, whether they were a top performer or not.

But yes, the opps need to be passed on. What sense does it make to "pad" your numbers upon exit, not like you will ever have a performance review once you leave the company. lol

You do, but not if you quit...you don't get paid on stuff that closes when you are no longer a part of the company.

If I’m not getting paid for them... I’m not working them. Lol that’d be a pretty nice two week vacation coming into the office.

I'm in a different situation. I will absolutely go after these same opps if I switch firms.

They will get reassigned randomly, or if there's someone sharp - they will request and receive it. I'd bury TF out of everything I have. One less competitor helps! HOWEVER - if I *do* end up competing against a former work buddy, I'm not afraid to have that awkward convo.

*side note - I'm not a BDR

I’m surprised anyone would force a BDR to work out the remained of their 2 weeks. If you have to, pass them to your team so they can get paid.

Truly be speaking, it all depends on the person that is reciving the opportunity. If someone has worked on building a good relationship with me or has been nice to me,  I am more than happy to help.

If the person was "not great towards me" or "two faced", why do I care about helping them?

As all of you know, sales is hard. We don't need someone making life harder for us. So if someone is going to come and make my life harder, I am not going to help.

While the sentiment has been stated, I promised the poll that I'd comment.

When it comes to making yourself look good in this case, I think looking like a "team player" is the right move. Find your best accounts, you get to choose which of your teammates to hand them off to, and BOOM. You're a generous god.

Sometimes sharing the success with others is the best way to bring yourself up.

Depends on the situation. I would give them up to a friendly for sure. If you like the company, do everything you can to help on the way out.

If it benefits someone else and not you any longer it would be greatly appreciated by someone else on the team and it probably would be a huge stress relief, best thing i can think of is "Pay it forward"

If they aren't letting you keep the earnings are they expecting you to still work for them? I feel like it's worth a conversation: If you aren't going to pay me then why ask me to keep working.
