You can have the absolute shittiest elevator pitch/cold opener ever and you can still close deals.

Curious how many of you share this in common; When your intro is a disaster but you still get what you want out of the call because you made the fucking call to begin with. I'm telling you these younger generations are at a huge disadvantage because they fear the phone to the point of not dialing. But the secret is this: The most important part of the cold call is just making the GD call in the first place. Feel that fear, use that shit, close that sale.

I've legit listened back to my calls and gone "How the fuck did you close that", but savages do what savages do.

I don't know why you think it's the younger generation that fear the phones. Cold call resistance isn't a new thing

True that. Almost my whole company is millennials and Gen Xers and we are very phone focused.Β

True, it is a little ageist of me to assume that, I’ve just seen this a little.

Agreed. I have stumbled my way through some cold calls, and still sourced solid pipe that ends up closing. It is all a relevance game... the more someone hears my company, regardless how shitty my elevator pitch is, eventually they will have a pain that aligns and I will either be top of mind or currently dialing them.

Most sales people are horrible at cold calls because most sales people are horrible at their job in general. So even if you can crank out a decent/average cold pitch, it's still better compared to what your prospects usually hear.Β
