Ask them why? Because unless you are trying to sell something to them they should tell you. It can be a positive or a negative comment from their part haha. For example they might mean thag you manage to persuade them 80% of the time to do/go to places you want for example

In high school I was voted most influential. I had zero clue what that meant-until now!

We use our sales skills with folks all of the time. Stuck in a conversation you don't want to be in? SPIN your way right out of it! The person is clueless, but ok, since you handled the situation in a way that made them think it was their idea to talk about something else.

Use your skills don't be ashamed friend! 🦊

That's a weird coincidence. I had a similar situation in High school. No wonder why I enjoy persuading people.

I have noticed sometimes (it has happened a lot), I start selling/persuading people to buy something that really matters to me, be it a mobile phone, echo dot, a ukulele or a Spotify subscription for that matter.

And I'm proud to say that I have been able to do that many times, not your regular word of mouth marketing, but actually diving deep about the use case and advantages a product/service provides.

The biggest revelation to me was when without knowing, I started selling a phone to my sales colleague and he decided to buy it. After a minute we just realised what happened and we laughed so hard.

I hear this a lot from a friend (who is also in sales). When I’m in a conversation with someone, I always ask a lot of questions because I’m naturally curious. My friend says I keep doing discovery meetings with everyone we meet 😅 I’d take it as a compliment if I were you! (Good) salespeople are probably the most socially intelligent people in the world.

I end up pitching everything I own to my friends. Cars, Bikes, phones, watches, you name it lol. Can't stop selling - won't stop selling - whether I represent the brand or not.

Are you trying to sell them something?

Nope. We were having a discussion about sales, I was trying to make them understand why it's crucial to actually like the product/services you're selling to enjoy sales. Guess I was selling sales.

Sounds to me you weren't selling anything. You were simply being yourself. Can't help it that you're influential boo!

Don't forget to upvote those that respond to you 😉

Sorry I'm passionate. Why don't you understand me anymore, stop sounding like my prospects. Then run away arms flailing and loud crying. It will never happen again after that.

Nope. Just explaining how sales is good when you believe in the product.

Got it. I don't see anything wrong with that. Some people will not understand passion

It could be a blessing. If you sound like a salesperson with your friend imagine what you sound like with a potential customer.

Growing up I would always negotiate with my brother to let things slide when I broke our parents rules. Sometimes it was giving them a 1/4 of my birthday money, or some times it was doing his chores. I think I was born to be in sales and my friends should already have the exposure :-).

I'd follow that up with "What led you to that conclusion?" to just 100% continue the salesman tactic.

For SDRs/BDRs: How pushy are you when they tell you they're not interested on the phone?

Question

When a lead answers the phone for the first time in history only to scream at me to stop calling my first reaction is to laugh really loud. I don't even think about it.
