You won’t believe the conversation I had with a customer today

I'm on a zoom today from Starbucks in my truck because the power went out at my house. I'm working with a large enterprise customer on a project and I'm trying to scope out the design/quote.

at the end of the call he goes "if you ever need to hit your quota I want to be the first person you call"

taken aback I say "wow thank you so much but I don't usually make calls like that but if I need to I will"

he goes "no, I want you to. I used to be in sales and it was the hardest job I ever had. I'm serious call me and we will figure out something."

have you ever had a relationship with a customer like this?

Just thinking out loud, think of how much more straightforward the process would be if more decision makers had sales experience and more sellers had buying experience

So true - real need for both sides to see the flip side of the coin.

By chance do they need anyone to make sure they have the correct insurance coverage in place? Or targeted risk control analysis?

Just wondering 👀

I think you should consider this a GOOD thing. Bring a couple smaller deals to these guys, take them out to lunch, become their best friend...and BAM you now have 10x your salesforce and they will happily do all the heavy lifting as long as you're involved

You're going to get absolutely fucked over in this role. Run, don't walk, away. Some partner is going to claim you stole its deal and you're going to be without recourse.

It's the end of the sales cycle (Oct 31) and a prospect is *this* close – do you EVER mention that as a way to urge the sale along?
