I've also had BRUTAL experiences with multiple ex-Microsoft guys, so I'd add them to the list.

Lots of opinions here from folks who don’t interview leaders on a regular basis 😎

Three things to look at:
1) Short stints of <1 year as a sales leader
—Tells me they get let go when they can’t scale to the next level.
2) Leadership roles with small, early stage companies only.
—Similar to the first bit. How will they help you scale?
3) Managed 1-2 reps at most and never had a full team that they’ve built and managed, maybe even hired middle managers.

anything not related to the results that manager makes.

All I want to know about that sales leader is

1. quota attainment of past team
2. management style
3. approach to coaching situations
4.30-60-90 day plan for success
5. coachable, can they take advice or do they only dish it
6. do they listen, are they cocky, would an SDR or AE enjoy working with them or be empowered by them
7. would they tell their team to double their activity or actually help them instead

I'm sure my dad knows more.
