Job searching

first time user of this site/War room. Just need some ideas to help find new work. I’ve been in the mortgage industry for 4+ years, closed 100s of deals and thinking of making a switch into a different industry. Some advice to take my next step in finding a new sales role with job openings on this site would be amazing!

i would suggest making a profile on the "jobs" tab.

if you use the search bar there have been other ppl in the mortgage industry that have looked to leave. i would look for those posts and see if it helps.

Afraid my lack of experience in this industry will shy away companies. Any advice on which positions would have my best interest or if I’m looking in the wrong industry? Not sure if my type of sales is much different than what’s on here. I love the client relationship building part of sales.

Talk up your positives. Your experience is what it is - but it's up to you to make it relevant to the job you want. So take a look at job postings, find one that interests you, and see if you can pull relevant experience you have that would be of value to that company.

Look into companies that work in real estate tech as there may be synergy there. Also might be worth a look into financial services SAAS orgs.

Best is to find jobs on linkedin, job portals, company website along with connecting with the hiring managers. Do you know which industry you want to get into?

Not a clue yet. I came across Bravado while searching on LinkedIn and was super interested in the idea of SaaS or some sort of AE role.

Make your resume translate.

I was a LO for a year and a half right out of college. It's gritty for sure and if you've closed 100's of deals, you'll land something for sure.

Speak into prospecting, hitting quota, milestones, marketing efforts, etc.

Mix of both inbound and referral based business is what I’ve been doing the past 3 years. What I’m looking to sell? Not sure yet. Just getting into the idea of software sales. Seems to be booming industry with great $$

Yeah, SaaS is currently in the dumpster with all of the cut backs. I would check out FinTech as it’s more of a parallel to what you have been doing.
