Advice needed - new manager

Bit of a long one so bear with.

Joined a new company in the fall. My manager was the number 1 rep in the company and promoted to RSD a few month prior to hiring me.

I did some background checks on them from mutual connections that I trusted and went for it - I was joining a great company and a great manager who was known for crushing it and will teach me loads.

I join, everything is rosey.. then after our first QSR (I'd literally been at the company for about 4 weeks) there is this big HR thing, and long story short, my manager got our RVP fired for some bullshit (it was basically a big setup to get the RVP out)

Now my manager is just becoming unbearable- micromanaging, second guessing everything, pressures me to sell in a way I'm not comfortable (really pushy) and loads more.

Its causing anxiety in my day job and I'm constantly having to pre empt what they will do next to avoid an issue.

What should I do because I dont know how much longer I can take this. Starting to hate this job but it's my dream company/job and dont want to run because of a shit manager.

Feel scared to raise it because of what happened with the RVP and I'll end up getting fired..

It looks like you have four options here: 1. stay, don't say anything and be miserable. 2. say something, and risk getting fired, maybe stay miserable or not depending on how it all goes down.  3. look for a new job because it doesn't sound like your dream job anymore. OR 4. look for an internal move to a different department with a different manager at your dream company.

I agree with some other people on here: raise the issue and risk getting fired/reprimanded. Brining it up and dealing with the consequences is far superior to living through this anxiety and not knowing what is next.

Plus who knows, bringing it up may really fix things. If anything your manager should be the one under the microscope for how they are leading and you bringing attention to it could be the first step to improving the situation for everyone.

If you're already feeling this anxious about what's going on, is it really worth staying?

Sorry to hear this, but many will find this out as well. Often times your "Dream Job" isn't always a dream job. If your manager was willing/able to "kill" someone above him to rise, imagine what he'd do to you. Food for thought.

Stick it out, try to get some mileage on your resume, then bounce to a better job for more money

A bad manager can ruin a dream job, and make it no longer a dream job.  Do you have the opportunity to move to another department?

Yeah to me a bad manager never gets better and when you try to give nice feedback they always spin it on you. Stay in as long as you are safe then things could either work or take the risk to join a new place. I left for a new manager that I liked but my pay hasn’t been the same since
