Any Expense Tracker App Recommedations

Good morning y'all,

Bit of advice needed. This month I managed to do a fairly large cock up and threw out pretty much all of my May receipts before submitting them by accident. Work are pretty chilled about this as the biggest chunk of expenses I have digital receipts for (car rental/flights/hotels etc.) however I can imagine it wont go down well if it happens twice.

All of my expenses are done through a company credit card, does anyone have any expense tracking apps that would work well in this situation?

Appreciate any advice!

Haven't used any beyond Excel, but before I had a company card I'd just snap a pic of each receipt right away.

Yep, this.ย  ย I put every receipt into a folder in my work backpack, but stuff happens, so a photo is an excellent backup.

Also works well for coat check tickets - been doing it for YEARS.

snapping pics of receipt's saves me. I always misplace receipts so now I just snap a pick and throw them out.ย

For personal card I use Excel and a finance tracker that links to your bank so you can flag transactions outside of your budget for review.

If you don't have receipts for personal cards you likely can submit a copy of your credit card bill and they can tie expenses back, depending on how friendly you are with accounting.

For company cards or even cash, sometimes you end up in a place that flat out doesn't give a receipt. This is a case of where the company has to trust you since you're (hopefully) earning more than you cost.

I stash all my receipts in a pocket of my bag and hand in immediately on return from any trip. I don't collect them by month or anything, since someone else is paid to handle all that. All I do is sort by currency and card used.

We use Concur and that works great, but not sure if you need a license for it or if you can sign up on your own. Take a picture of receipts as soon as you get them!!!
