There's tidbits you can pick out of various trainings. I'm not a fan of any certain one.

^^^... try both. pick out what works best for you from each one. Craft your own methodology and best practice.

Challenger, but the golden question is: when you think about what you’re doing today, what does your ideal state look like because I want to try and bridge that gap with our solution? (Which is the essence of gap selling)

So both

I prefer GAP, but the important thing is to study both and use what applies to you and your world.

Just put on the knee pads and pretend to do whatever makes your management happy.
Then really just go do you.
All these books and bs are a joke and don’t transfer well to all industries and products.

Challenger if it’s a me too product. GAP if it’s a solutions based. Both if it’s both. I use that and SPIN as well. They’re all useful and useless in their own ways depending on the customer and market

How would you differentiate between a me too product and solutions based?

Me too = razor blade
Solutions = software/whatever solution with some degree of customization that requires an implementation/understanding of workflow/business practices

I like Challenger a lot, but not familiar with GAP enough to speak to it.

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve stopped reading Challenger as it’s not that pleasant a read. Gap is really enjoyable on the other hand

Find out where you prospect is and where they need to be.  If you can get them there - bingo. Spread that gap, make them see the light, and take them to the promise land.  There is no silver bullet to long term sales success.
