Christmas Party Nightmare...

Tis the season... who has a work Christmas party horror story?

I'll go first. A friend recently told me about when the new sales rep joining the company in the new year was invited to the Christmas party. They were obviously nervous about being new to the team and not knowing anyone yet, so got a bit too merry during dinner. Long story short, they ended up telling the manager they looked like a mouse and repeatedly tried to feed him cheese.

Company rented out ice rink. Managers were sling shotting folks from the middle of the rink and they'd stop way before they hit the padded wall. One chick didn't listen to instructions. Broke her hip. Christmas parties never happened again.

Not me but heard a story how a well known CEO of a company was put in a headlock by a pretty drunk sales rep. The CEO rolled with it but the rep was fired the next day. I'm trying to think who it was

I think I’ve told this story here before, but a new hire got super drunk, told the team he was the greatest sales person in our industry (he wasn’t), stormed out of the party and was robber at 2am trying to buy drugs in nyc. He showed up the next day super late, tried to track down his watch and wallet and then flew home. He was kept on for like 6-8 months after this, somehow.

Many jobs ago, finance manager sexually harassed every intern in the company and first got them drunk (as in just purposefully bringing them stronger drinks) and then was just super sleezy. Ugh.

I was the only guy teaching english at the language school (non-english speaking country) on a staff of 5.
After the christmas dinnner it was time for drinks in a bar/disco. Infront of all the other ladies, the head of studies (married lady around 15 years my senior) says "let me see your hand". She proceeds to play with my little finger whilst licking her lips, looking me in the eye and suggesting some fun between the sheets.
I was young, shy and pretty shocked. I reminded her that she was married whilst her co-workers looked on with their jaws on the floor (but they didn't dare criticize her because they feared for their jobs).
She said "My husband and I have an understanding, we each have our own friends here and there".
I got my ass out of there pretty sharpish and the atmosphere at work was weird for weeks after that.

Have seen one confrontation on why they were passed on a promotion

First year at a pretty big company, had only been there a few months.
Only went to the holiday/Christmas party to try and get to know my colleagues a little better, network, etc.
Was about to leave, decided to hit the restroom before heading out since I had a solid hour drive home.
As I’m approaching the bathroom I see this circle of reps, all standing around, in the back of the building, hidden away from all the rest of the people.
One of the guy’s I had become friends with, and knew where I stood on values/integrity, held his hand up over my eyes and goes, “you don’t want to go back there”.
Me: “What do you mean?”
My friend: “I don’t think you want to join them.”
Me: “I’m an adult man, what are they doing?”
Friend: “Blow, they’re doing blow.”
Me: “Well, you right I definitely don’t want join those idiots.”
Left shortly after.
Then went on to hear about how the branch before I had come on was even more crazy.
Someone told me, before I came on, a guy did blow right on his desk and went right back to making sales calls.
It was about as close to Wolf on Wallstreet shenanigans that I’ve ever come close to.

I'm just here to let you know my xmas party is next week and I'm looking for ideas.

Also lowkey some drama since we're in the festive season. In Finland it's common to use the sauna during office after-hours, well since the last one there's a nice sign about sauna etiquette and specifically harassment of a certain nature so I think something went down at the last event at my office 👀
