I like this way better now.
They used to do that. Then a bunch of bots from Colombia showed up and gamed the system into paying them out in Amazon GCs.

I was getting Amazon giftcards and an occasional Target giftcard. I miss them and think they should be brought back!

Maybe? But it's enough reward to keep good posters here rather than at reddit or some such other place. It's mean to be a way to reward quality - hence the ability to upvote something you find particularly interesting or insightful.
As with anything nice, it's got the potential for abuse, hence the reworking of the leaderboard and the removal of the gift cards.

I’m still a newbie here. Generally, I like the content. There are a few less than friendly people in the mix that like to stir the pot just to be confrontational. That part I don’t enjoy.. so I just weed out the butthead comments and focus on the good ones. 😁
