Does anyone still do personalized video outreach?

I remember a few years ago when this was all the rage...has the luster worn off?

Our team tried with limited success in the past, but it would take a ridiculous amount of time personalizing and I hardly saw a lift in results.

Any sales savages out there still using tools like Vidyard / Loom / Drift video with 'remarkable' results?? I'd also be curious if results differ from a BDR/SDR or AE viewpoint (e.g. ways AE's are still successfully using this in the buying process).

Prove me wrong, but I think it was a fad that died off upon people realizing there was not enough results to squeeze from the efforts.

As a trysexual, I figured I'd give the whole "Video Outreach" lifestyle a go and feel it out for myself.

At the end of each performance I must admit that I truly did feel a bit more cheap, dirty, and used, than I usually would. This added a pleasant sort of je ne sais quoi to my shower sessions, that previously was very much left to be desired.

but, I digress.

As the days turned to weeks, the levels of delicious debasement reached depths that not even James Cameron himself would dare dive to. I was trapped, destined to be left chasing the dragon of masochism indefinitely.

At least until I was abruptly torn from my stupor by the cold hands of data.

I saw a dip in my income. I immediately became ill.

I lumbered into the bathroom like a drunkard, knocking over a table lamp in a feeble attempt to support myself. I burst through the door and subsequently tumbled to the cold tiled floor, the physical pain offering a brief respite from the anguish going on in my soul.

I pulled myself up by the sink counter and looked myself in the mirror.

I no longer saw the blue-chip escort that once looked back at me with piercing green eyes. Desperately, I looked deeper, straining my eyes in attempt to make out the misshapen horror standing before me. I began experiencing something I can only describe as spiritual vertigo. I instinctively reached for my cigarettes and lighter. I fumbled, unable to spark the flame that would initiate the transmission of much needed nicotine to my brain.

My hands were shaking ferociously, not as a result from the normalized excess caffeine consumption but from shock, undoubtedly a result of the cruel realization that I had indeed lost myself.

I made the decision right then and there to cut Loom cold turkey.

Today, I'm proud to say that I'm coming up on 2 years video outreach free and life has never been better.

Why are there so many threads on video prospecting lately? Honestly.../Dr Evil voice

No. Nobody that values their time or knows what they're doing uses this approach. It was popularized on LI by blowhard "coaches," SDRs that think they're Jordan Belfort even though they're not even allowed to run disco calls, and people who sell video prospecting software.

I would be pissed if I found out my SDR team was spamming out videos to prospects. I don’t know why it ever became a thing.
