Getting off a week of travel, walking through the airport and saw a blind guy. Reminded me of a sales call I made early in my career when I was selling telecom services.
I walked into this guys office and upon sitting down he shared with me that they decided to go with my competitor because they had just had the most amazing presentation by a blind guy. he went on about how AMAZING this blind guy was and how impressed he was. he apologized for wasting my time
I just nodded my head, thinking the meeting was over. However just before leaving he asked what my long distance rate was for their call volume (yes, people used to pay for LD calls!). I told him it was $0.10 per minute.
He then said, quite loudly, "fuck the blind guy that's half what he proposed." We ended up signing the deal with him that day.
This memory put a smile on my face as I walked to my connecting flight.
