How do we feel about having recruiters in the War Room?

Our fearless and brilliant leader, Sahil Mansuri, posted on LinkedIn:

"I feel like we should open the War Room to recruiters... not so they can try and pitch our members. (We have a firm no recruiting policy). But so they can learn from the best how to sell. Recruiting is, after all, a sales job."

My take here is "by all means." I've met and heard of many a recruiter who successfully transitioned into sales and vice versa. Each profession has so much value to offer each other but at the end of the day, they both fall under the sales umbrella :)

I'm a recruiter (also have business development and account management duties) and have been here since launch. I've found most topics and conversations to be applicable to what I do and have found value and insight in a lot of the content.

I feel I have also provided alternative opinions, outlooks, and takes to topics as well, and I'm glad to be here.

Recruiting is sales. Ergo, I welcome recruiters to the war room with open arms.

in fact, I’d love to hear more from recruiters so that I can understand their domain better and help me assess what to reasonably expect (good and bad) by working with one.

Couldn't agree more. I'll always reply to a recruiter if they sell me well enough no matter how happy I am because I appreciate they are grinding a sales gig just like myself

Let them in! Selling roles & jobs is still selling. Some of the recruiters that reach out to me are better than my own SDRs.

S.A.D.N.E.S.S applies to all of these roles.

If their role involves biz dev, sure. If they're purely a recruiter on the candidate side...eh, I could go without.

As long as they aren't ruining the community with shitty sales pitches I see no issue
