How long should you remain in a new job that isn't right for you?

Started a new job recently. I'd been out of the game for a bit so needed to get back in and get another logo on the CV.

Fast forward to now - I'm doing lots of things for this business I wouldn't have done otherwise (product management, sales strategy, marketing strategy, account management) but the focus is on a SaaS CRM product that follows a product-led growth model - in other words, it's free at entry level. The product isn't developed enough to compete with the big boys and therefore selling to enterprise businesses is off the table. The AOV therefore isn't anywhere near enough to get even close to hitting target.

Feel like potential employers might be funny about having such a short tenure on my CV. If it's longer might not be so much of an issue?

Bottom Line: you need to do what is right for you and your happiness!ย  ย You might run into more obstacles because of the short stint, but the right company will be okay with that.ย ย

Yikes dude. Like everyone else here said: get out and don't even mention it on your resume. If they ask about any gaps just be completely honest. Any reasonable employer would understand.

Do you still wear a full suit to your 1st meeting with a prospect, or is that completely dust now and feel like a used car salesman?
