Logo and privacy

Customer got annoyed because I sent them a presentation that has their logo on it. Presentation was not shared with anyone else. And we never displayed their logo anywhere.

I responded with same response. I think now they are ok but did they have a point?

Blow it up
I think it shows a personalization of the presentation that I would appreciate. Some may find it a little forward depending on the state of the relationship, but no way should they be upset.

When I used to do presentations to foreign militaries we would use their flag (along with ours) as a sign of cooperation and end with a slide saying "Thank you for your attention" in their local language. It was always a hit.

Glad you were able to smooth it over, but seriously? Those are publicly available, and many companies deliberately make all their approved graphics available externally so that they're used properly.

If you used it to personalize a presentation for them, there's no harm.

Where it can cause issues is if you have a customer who either has not agreed to allow you to use their logo as you discuss current customers, or they have specifically disallowed the use, and you use it anyway. Assuming that is not the case here, and it was literally used to personalize the presentation - then your customer is very sensitive!

It did to me too.

I now kind of wonder what happened to them before this that would lead to this reaction to you. Sounds like something bad happened.

Super weird, if you can copy paste a logo from a website to “customize” their demo/presentation you should

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
We use customer logos in our presentations to them all the time. It shows we’ve personalized the presentation to them and for their needs. Never an issue.

You obviously just hit that one person who was looking for a reason to get their panties in a bunch over something/nothing.

I took extra time because it was difficult to find the actual logo for 2022 😂

They absolutely didn’t have a point !
Logos are available on a simple Google Search. On their website. On their email signatures sometimes.
What even.
