Back to the other day when I was tasking a retention role for a while and that customer came through with +10 of his subscriptions he wanted to disconnect for having a better deal with one of the competitors that offered him a much better price!!
At first it came to my mind to try to match the discount he received but that may or may not approved by the retention seniors at that point we had to refer to on cases like these.
Besides it would badly impact my retention bonus if the deal was matched at the competitor's price!!
So I had to have a further conversation with the customer and talked Value not Price and it appeared to be that he had no awareness about around 70% of the features our product provides, the thing that others can not match so easily with much versatility!!!
Thank God he agreed to go for another year at the same last Price and my expected output commission wasn't harmed and everyone went happy!!
