Like a phoenix from the ashes, I am back.
First real deal on the new business side of things, and it's a zinger. Met the CIO at a happy hour we were throwing at a conference. He had bought our platform before at a different school, and was in need at his new job.
Chatted with him briefly on Monday night, presented pricing on Tuesday night at a different bar and after some very brief haggling, came to an agreement. 3 year site license (all functionality), $30k/year, prepay up front for a total of $90k in revenue. Cue me frantically running around to my coworkers for a laptop in order to get a contract drafted up. Then I had to run around to bar employees to get it printed. Maybe 10 minutes later, came by with a paper contract and pen in hand. He signed on the spot, I walked it over to our CEO for his signature, and the rest is history.
Probably the easiest deal of all time, but so so electric.
I've got a couple more up in the air, so hopefully the win wire will be chiming!
