This was one pain in the ass. Had two IT guys from different divisions trying to bundle services into one deal for a better price. Of course we obliged and gave them a significant discount for a 2-for-1 deal. Then, they kept asking for new quotes with some additional services, and then take these additions back out, and finally put them back in.
Eventually it gets handed over to procurement right at the start of March. Procurement want a discount. We explain they already have a significant discount and we're not willing to go lower. We offer better payment terms and throw in a free complimentary product if they sign by end of Q1 instead. They accept. Then change their mind. They say they'll take that AND they still want the additional discount. They leave the clock run out on Q1 and sign the contract first thing in the morning on April 3rd before anyone gets into the office. Renewals' problem now, thankfully.
