A strong Ferrari is good for F1. I have no doubts that Mercedes will be up there fighting for top spot. But a power shift back toward Ferrari is a great look for the sport right now.ย
Ya I agree, there is a fast car in that Merc build but its gonna take a couple months to iron out. Also wild to see that they no longer have the superior power plant (RB reliability aside).ย

The Haas storyline is incredible. We all knew they were punting on last season to focus on 2022 but no chance I thought they had this in them. Who knows where Mic finishes if he doesn't get spun out early.ย

I'm happy that the Haas decision may have paid off for them.ย Last season was painful, but can you imagine how they'd feel to have put everything into development for this season and then have it totally fizzle?
Lewis wasnโt competing for the win against RB/Ferrari, but a distinctly third best team is hardly โmid-packโ.
George and Lewis has about 3 football fields behind them, and as soon as the RBs fell apart they slotted right into 3rd and 4th.
It wouldโve arguably been embarrassing if he hadnโt finished 3rd, as it was Georgeโs first ever race in a big boy team, and Lewis comfortably had him under control. ย A good drive, but I donโt think it was worthy of any commendation. Par for the course imo.

Max hasnโt EARNED the way he drives? What the fuck does that mean? You get to drive more daringly the older and more washed up you get? Max has balls of weapons-grade plutonium. He goes for the gap left by lesser men. If they choose not to close the gap, thatโs their problem. ย And when they do close the gap, which Lewis finally started doing, he crashes, shrugs it off and comes back the next race to kick ass and take names.
When I used to sell as part of a team, I used to seize territory and eat everyone elseโs lunch. Theyโd bitch to our managers, but because Iโd followed protocol and cleared my actions in advance, I was always in the clear. I made no apologies, and it wasnโt personal, but if you canโt keep up thatโs not my problem. I didnโt come to make friends, I came to win. The competition could line up against me and Iโd crush them anyway. Max drives to win.
The rest aside, I definitely think Charles has earned his stripes. Crushed it at Alfa, crushed his first races at Ferrari before they were caught cheating, and has consistently out performed their toy car the last couple years. George the same. Wildly out performed his teammates and his Williams, and wouldโve won his first time out in a Benz if they hadnโt fucked up the pit stops and punctures etc back when Lewis had COVID.

I cant disagree with anything you lay out here. As a Red Bull hater I am terrified that they have figured out the fuel issue and are now going to just dominate the rest of the season. That car is a rocket in a straight line.ย
I think I would disagree that the RB car is notably inferior to the Ferrari if you put reliability aside. They have been pretty fucking quick in every race they have finished. And contending in the races they did not. Those cars are close.ย

All yโall haters. Max is very clearly the most talented driver on the grid. The only other drivers who comes close on raw talent are Charles, George, and occasionally Lando. ย Lewis is top tier, but if he doesnโt have the best car heโs not really a contender. ย The other 3 all routinely outperform their vehicles.
Max is talented, but he is surrounded by a team of asshats. He can be a fantastic driver, but is off-grid demeanor does not make him someone I can root for. Iโd rather see Charles or Carlos win out this season over Max getting another title. Hell, we might not need to worry about it with their PU shitstorm looming in the background.
