45yo. Been in tech sales for last 10 years. I will be doing this until I'm lowered into the ground.
I have a culinary background, I used to be a network admin. I've worked in food service, transportation, and been an entrepreneur. All of those jobs were stressful, just like my sales jobs have been. The difference is I never made anywhere near the money I make in sales. So the trade-off is better (at least it is for me personally).
Finally, as a long-term career, I think tech sales has great stability and longevity. Unless Elon is developing a robot that can build rapport and dance around details of the development roadmap without pissing the prospect off, I think we're all good for a bit.
